Seven times a day we gather for the Opus Dei beginning with Vigils in the middle of the night and ending with Compline in the early evening. Eucharist is concelebrated daily at 7:00AM (after Lauds at 6:30) and on Sunday at 8:00AM.
Along with the prayer of praise (…by night I will sing to him, praise the God of my life… Ps. 42:9) and thanksgiving (…it is good to give thanks to the Lord, to make music to your name, O most high… Ps. 92:1), the prayer of intercession and petition (…I rise before dawn and cry for help, I hope in your word… Ps. 119:147) has always been an important component of monastic prayer.
