26th Wednesday in Ordinary Time
Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels
Exodus 23:20-23; Matthew 18:1-5, 10
Mourner’s Kaddish I
Glorified and sanctified be God’s great name throughout the world which He has created according to His will. May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days, and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon; and say, Amen.
Our prayers must be confirmed by the community and seconded by our actions. If our actions do not conform to the words of our mouths, we mock God. God is the creator of the universe. He made us and we belong to Him. We are His people, the sheep of His pasture. He has sent an angel to guard us as we journey to our heavenly homeland. Because God so loved the world, we are summoned to come before his mercy throne without fear. As children of the loving Father, we can look to Him for direction, assistance, and blessing.
Mourner’s Kaddish II
May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity. Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored, adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He, beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that are ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.
Life is a journey that leads us to the place God has prepared for us. He made all things and keeps them in existence. There is a world of angels who exist for the sole purpose of praising His majesty. Had Adam and Eve not sinned, singing the endless praises of God with the angels would have been our delight. While we were yet sinners, the Beloved Son laid down his life for us so that find our resting place close to the heart of the Father where no one walks alone, no one can think he is alone because the guarding companion is always there.
Mourner’s Kaddish III
May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.
Christ chose the icon of the child to show us how a Christian should be. If we have the attitude of listening to advice, of an open heart, of not wanting to be the greatest, that attitude of not wanting to walk alone, we will be closer to the attitude of a child. Being kind and merciful as our heavenly father we show love and concern for our brothers and sisters. Having been admitted to communion with the Persons of the Blessed Trinity we are share love’s embrace with all we meet. Let us remember how good the Lord is: after we lost his friendship he did not leave us to our own, he did not abandon us, but walked with us, with his people.
Mourner’s Kaddish IV
He who creates peace in His celestial heights, may He create peace for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.
