Based on diocesan directives, the Abbey of the Genesee is doing what it can to help protect the monks and the public during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. We have taken the following precautions:
- Mass is closed to the public until further notice.
- Merton Hall will not be hosting groups until further notice.
- The Abbey Store will be open with limited hours: Mon-Sat 11am-5pm
Bishop Matano has suspended all public Masses in the Diocese of Rochester. The suspension was effective immediately and until further notice. Click here to read the Bishop’s statement.
We apologize for any inconvenience and we pray for the health and well-being of all.
It was, in fact, the infinite love of the Father which gave us Jesus: For God so loved the world – Jesus revealed to Nicodemus – that he gave his only begotten Son so that everyone who believed in him would not die but would have eternal life (John 3:15).
Jesus accepted this will of the Father. He came, revealed the Father to us and described his infinite and eternal love, and the fact that all those who accept him belong to the Father. Thus is the world saved through him.
