Pouring It On
Yesterday we made a big leap forward in our renovation project with the pouring of concrete floors in two areas: the new entrance to the bread store and enlarged Merton Hall and the storage room for the bread store.

The new entrance is the only addition to the existing buildings and required a concrete sub floor. Here the masonry contractor is putting on the finishing touches.

The other area  at the north end of the building will be used as a storage room for the bread store. The existing floor was 2 or 4 inches lower than the rest of the building. It had to be filled in to bring it up to the level of the rest of the adjoining room which is the store.

All of the floors throughout the building will be finished in ceramic tile or vinyl or wood flooring. But that’s months away.

Lectio Notebook

If the unity of Christians in One Body makes the Church a sign of God in the world, and if men tend unfortunately to conflict and division by reason of their weakness, selfishness and sin, then the will to reconciliation and pardon is necessary if the Church is to make God visible in the world.

Nor can this pardon, this communion in forgiveness remain interior and invisible. It must be clearly manifest. So the mystery of the Church demands that Christians love one another in a visible and concrete way – and that they love all men.
