Liturgical Update
To assist those who prepare readings for the Liturgy of the Hours, our hard working liturgist, Fr. Justin, has sent three PDF files containing the list of Scripture Readings for Vigils, Lauds and Vespers, and Sext for every day of the liturgical year 2019-2020. You will find them on the Order’s website at: Resources – Liturgy – Cistercian Lectionary.

Major Changes
The big news in the community these days is the change of the offices of prior, vocation director/novice master, and subprior. Our current prior, Fr. Isaac, will become the new novice master while the current novice master, yours truly after many years of service, will move into retirement from the position and begin giving talks to retreatants and monitoring the monastic immersion retreatants. As most of us know there’s no retirement for monks! The abbot is to announce the new prior and subprior shortly.
MEANWHILE, WINTER HAS ARRIVED!
Lectio Notebook
Oh hope of all peoples, everyone who waits for you shall not be disappointed. Our fathers waited for you – all the righteous from the beginning of the world hoped in you – and they have not been disappointed. For they have now received your mercy in the midst of your temple and make joyful choir to praise you singing: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; trustfully have I waited for the Lord and he has turned towards me.”
They recognize the divine majesty humbled in the flesh and say: Look, this is our God; and we have been waiting for his coming and he will save us. This is the Lord; we have been relying on him and we shall be joyful and happy in the salvation he will grant us.”
