September 7, 2019 – Thanks be to God and to our customers. The Abbey Store traffic has increased noticeably. Thank you for supporting our brothers. This past Summer, we had hard-working teenagers help out in the store while they were on retreat.
Monks’ Breads and Artisan Breads are the people’s favorite. Thanks to the bakery brothers and employees.
In less than three months, we sold over 1,000 pies from the Special Touch Bakery. You have to check out their web site! We are honored to carry their products and support them. There are 36 varieties. We can only carry a few kinds per week. You can pre-order and pre-pay the pie of your choice by a Tuesday afternoon and pick it up on early Thursday afternoon (until 12 PM Sunday). The pies are freshly baked on Thursdays.
The Jasmine and Bougainvillea plants are blooming beautifully. Come and see our bougainvillea mother plant. The small plants are almost sold out. Abbey Gail, the humming bird visits them daily. She is very possessive of them. Beware of hummingbird!
We recently emptied the little Prayer Petitions box into the base of the Shrine since it was very full. We thank you for your faith in Our Loving Mother! It was a surprise to see so many prayer petitions. We also thank the person (s) who made a generous donation which was acknowledged and thankful by our Abbot and the brothers. Pray for us oh Holy Mother of God. Amen.
Soon we will also carry Ukrainian rolls baked by the Holy Annunciation Sisters, the bakers of 15 delicious flavored cheesecakes. There are more products in our store. It will be worth it for you to pay a visit to the store when you come to pray and experience the peace and tranquility at the monastery.
June 22, 2019 – New freezer arrived two weeks ago. In addition to Artisan Bread, we have pies and cheesecakes baked by Special Touch Bakery and Carmelite Kitchen. Bougainvillea plants will be available for sale by the end of next week.
