Retreats At The Abbey
| Mankind needs to keep
a few quiet corners
for those who seek a respite
and feel the urge
to retreat for awhile
from over-civilization
to creative silence.
Fr. Alfred Delp, SJ

Each year we welcome many men and women, Catholics and non-Catholics, desiring to come aside and rest awhile with the Lord. We provide three houses where silent, monastic-style retreats can be made by individuals or groups. |
We provide three separate retreat houses that may be used for individual or group retreats: Bethlehem, Bethany and Nazareth.
Normally, retreats are made from Monday afternoon until Friday morning, and Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon, although exceptions are made to accommodate individual schedules. Retreatants at each of our guest houses are invited to participate in the retreat conferences and the liturgy of the abbey, though attendance is optional. (A conference is a talk given by one of the monks.) Everyone is welcome to the celebration of the Eucharist, though in keeping with the teaching and practice of the Catholic Church, only Catholics may receive communion. (see The Catechism of the Catholic Church, nos. 1398-1401.)
Ample grounds and wooded areas provide plenty of space
for walks
and quiet time alone. A rather serious silence is maintained
throughout the retreat. Offerings for retreats are on a donation
basis.
NOTE: As of April 1, 2008 the suggested offering is $50 per night.
Reservations
for each retreat house require a $50 non-refundable deposit per person. Other arrangements can be made as needed. Retreat offerings are put in the envelopes provided at each house and left in the slot marked “Guest Houses” in the bookstore at the abbey.
