Ours is a relatively simple life composed of:

communal and private
prayer
•
sacred reading
•
study
•
manual labor
•
service to the brethren
• and
hospitality
Seven times a day we gather
for the Opus Dei beginning with Vigils in the middle of the night
and ending with
Compline in the early evening. Eucharist is concelebrated daily
at different times depending on the monastic schedule.
Along with the prayer of praise (...by night I will sing
to him, praise the God of my life... Ps. 42:9) and thanksgiving
(...it
is good to give thanks to the Lord, to make music to your name,
O most high... Ps. 92:1), the prayer of intercession and petition
(...I rise before dawn and cry for help, I hope in your word...
Ps. 119:147) has always been an important component of monastic
prayer.
Throughout the day there is a balance between work, reading,
solitude and community life, as shown in a typical schedule

2:25 AM Vigils (breakfast)
6:00 AM Lauds & Mass (meditation)
7:15 AM Terce (beginning of work)
10:30 AM end of work
11:15 AM Sext (dinner - optional siesta)
1:05 PM None (beginning of work)
3:30 PM end of work
4:30 PM Vespers (supper)
6:35 PM Compline
7:00 PM Retire
